Select Nannies Inc. website may be used solely for lawful purposes by Families seeking Nannies for the purpose of childcare or eldercare, and individuals seeking a Nanny placement.

Responding to a Caregiver employment opportunity for any reason other than to apply for a childcare or eldercare position is prohibited.

Any person using www.Selectnannies.ca to solicit and conduct activities other than as intended by this site will not be tolerated. Should any criminal offence be committed via the use of personal information found on www.Selectnannies.ca, we will fully cooperate with the appropriate authorities in seeking prosecution.



ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SNI AND EMPLOYER

SNI will make its best efforts to recruit quality Caregivers and ensure that each Caregiver meets the criteria required by Immigration in order to be approved for the Live-in Caregiver Program. SNI encourages the Employer to review the Caregivers’ profiles and to take whatever steps necessary to verify the Caregivers’ credentials.

The Employer shall refrain from making any private agreement with the Applicant or from taking any action which is inconsistent with this agreement or which has the effect of avoiding any of the Employer’s obligations hereunder. Such private agreements and actions include, but are not limited to, actions which would enable the Employer or any other person to avoid payment of the Placement Fees due to SNI, as, for example, if the Employer gives the name of one of our Caregivers to another person who subsequently employs the Caregiver.

Upon request of the Employer, SNI will facilitate reasonable number of phone or in-person interviews with potential Caregivers and will assist the Employer with selection of a suitable Caregiver. The Employer is aware that although SNI assists the Employer in referring a Caregiver to work in the Employer's home, SNI cannot predict the candidate's future behavior, actions or performance and only the Employer can assess the Caregiver's competence and appropriateness for the Employer's position. The Employer also understands that he/she takes full responsibility for the decisions to hire and to continue to employ the Caregiver and that the role of SNI is limited to supplying Caregivers for the Employer's consideration and verifying the credentials of the Caregiver. The Employer shall, at all times, have the right to refuse hiring any candidate being considered during the referral process.

SNI will prepare all the necessary documents, such as an application for live-in Caregiver for Service Canada and a customized Work Contract, which will include, but will not be limited to, the topics of wages, work schedule, duties, benefits, house rules and other matters, and submit them to the Employer for review and signatures. SNI will then instruct the Employer on how to submit the documents to Service Canada. SNI will assist the Caregiver with the submission of her Work Permit Application and supporting documents to the appropriate Immigration office and will advise the Caregiver in all relevant immigration matters to the best of their ability.

SNI will do its best to provide the Employer with useful tools such as an Initial phone Orientation, a Family Kit, a custom Source Deduction Spreadsheet, Select Nannies Cookbook and other tools as needed.

SNI will provide reasonable support to the Employer and the Caregiver during the entire length of the placement, including source deduction change updates and guidance with the Termination Procedure.


FEES
The total Placement Fee is $1400 Canadian Dollars plus GST, payable in two installments; however, there is no initial charge for a Family to register with us. Once you select one of our Caregivers, and we prepare the paperwork for Service Canada on your behalf, you will need to submit an initial non-refundable payment of $650 plus GST in order that we start processing your documents with the Service Canada office.

You will be required to pay the remaining portion of $750 plus GST after the Caregiver's visa has been issued and prior to her arrival date to Canada.

If you are a repeat family and wish to get another Caregiver through our agency, our fee to repeat customers is 25 percent off the current placement fee.

There are no other hidden fees and all services of SNI listed above are included in the Placement Fee.

THREE-MONTH GUARANTEE
After a match has been made, and the Family or the Caregiver feels that the relationship is not working out within the first three months, SNI will replace one Caregiver free of charge. No refunds will be issued once payment has been received.

SHOULD TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT OCCUR BY REASON OF MISDESCRIPTION OR MISREPRESENTATION CONCERNING THE DUTIES, WAGES OR TREATMENT OF THE APPLICANT OR IF YOU REFUSE TO SIGN A WORK AGREEMENT OUTLINING THE APPLICANT'S WORK HOURS, PAY AND DUTIES, THIS 'REPLACE ONE CAREGIVER AT NO COST' CLAUSE IS VOID AND WILL BE CONSIDERED A BREACH OF CONTRACT BY THE EMPLOYER.


DISCLAIMERS

1. Select Nannies Inc. is acting solely as a referral agent, and at no time will be the Employee or the Employer in the placement process. We do not assume any liability for the candidates; the total responsibility of selecting and employing a nanny rests entirely with the Employer.
2. Select Nannies Inc. is not an agent of the Nanny, and Select Nannies Inc. is not in any way liable for any loss, damage, expense or injury, which the Employer or any other person may suffer or incur as a result of wrongful acts or negligence of the Nanny.
3. Select Nannies Inc. does not guarantee results, and will not be responsible if the employment is unsuccessful.
4. Select Nannies Inc. takes no responsibility for any material input incorrectly by the Applicant, and each Applicant is solely responsible for the content and accuracy of her application.

Personal information regarding Caregivers on the Select Nannies Inc. Caregiver database is not confidential and may be viewed by anyone with access to the site. We cannot police or enforce our rules against third party users. Personal information provided by families in the online Family application, on the other hand, is confidential and viewable only by staff of Select Nannies Inc.

SNI assumes no responsibility for the payment or withholding of any taxes or deductions required by law, arising from the Caregiver's employment in the Employer's home.
